My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is a sweetheart who needs a home that will take it slow with her and understand that the world can be a bit scary for her. She takes a little bit to warm up to new people but is always up to play with toys and work for treats. She has enjoyed the company of familiar dogs, but seeing dogs out on walks can be a little overwhelming sometimes. Penny has made a lot of progress in her time with us and in her previous home, but she will need someone to continue helping her through some of her anxieties. She will surely make it worth your while with lots of snuggles!

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
