My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Leland, a charming 5-year-old male cat with the silkiest black fur you've ever seen. Leland came to us as a timid cat with a timid start and he struggled to find his footing in the shelter environment. However, thanks to one of our dedicated foster parents, Leland found the love and support he needed to thrive.
In his foster home, Leland is blossoming into the confident cat he was always meant to be. His once shy demeanor has given way to a talkative nature, as he eagerly shares his thoughts and feelings with his foster mom.
Leland's favorite pastime is his playful game of cat and mouse (or rather, cat and bunny). With his favorite stuffed bunny in tow, Leland loves to race through the house.
Leland has so much love to give, and we know that the perfect home is out there waiting just for him. Are you ready to welcome Leland into your heart and home? With your love and support, he's sure to continue his journey towards confidence and happiness, one purr at a time.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
