My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is house and leash trained. She knows a few basic commands and likes small dogs and cats. She enjoys car rides, walks, rolling in the dirt, and snacks. She will need a family that will give her some additional training, lots of attention, and must have a solid, height appropriate fence if there is a yard. She is heartworm positive and has been receiving treatment. She will be retested for heartworms again in April. Bella is in foster, not located at the shelter. Please submit an application at bastropshelter.com for consideration if interested.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
