My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is INKY!
I'm waiting at the rescue ranch to meet you!
As you can see I am very handsome and I look really good in black and white!
I am a young guy around 1 year old and I weigh 65lbs.
I am a big gentle goof ball who loves other dogs and kids!
I have met a lot of other dogs here at the rescue and I really enjoy playing with them. I also met the directors granddaughter and I knew to be extra gentle with her.
I would love an active family that enjoys the outdoors and will take me on lots of adventures. I am a quick learner and I can walk really good on a leash now. I am starting to learn more basic commands like sit and stay!
Do you have room in your heart and home for ME?
Do you want to meet?
Please read the guidelines below, provided by my rescue!

Additional adoption info

Thank you for considering the adoption of a rescue. Before you decide to adopt a pet, please consider the effort and funds necessary to properly maintain an animal. Responsible pet ownership requires a commitment to provide care and companionship for the life of the animal. The decision to adopt a pet is an important one. In order to ensure that you and your pet will be happy for years to come, we need to take time to discuss your animal and your individual needs and personality traits. Please take a few moments to carefully read and complete this questionnaire. Please note there are no wrong answers, but honesty is the best answer for all involved. This is to ensure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you and your family.

Please note: Completion of this application does not guarantee adoption. If you do not own your own home - Paws Fur Recovery will need to contact your landlord or HOA to verify that you are allowed to have pets. We will also need to perform an in-person house check to verify that your home is suitable for pets (enough space, fenced in yard, etc). We will need to meet all residents of your home, including any adults, children, pets both inside & out - to make sure your home is suitable for the dog you are seeking to adopt. This is not an exhaustive list of requirements. Every dog's situation is different and every adoption will be handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of a Paws Fur Recovery representative.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate dogs stuck in high kill shelters that are at risk of euthanasia. At the same time we strive to empower our volunteers who are all recovering addicts and alcoholics.

Paws Fur Recovery aims to promote these benefits for our dogs and volunteers:

○ Encourages positive change and a sense of purpose
○ Increases self-esteem.
○ Teaches trust again
○ Promotes responsibility and accountability
○ Decreases anxiety and depression in both the addict and the dog
○ Provides socialization for both the addict and the dog
○ Creates a symbiotic relationship of unconditional love and acceptance

Certain dogs at the shelter have stories that every recovering addict knows all too well: They have been abandoned, alone, afraid, abused, unwanted and misunderstood. They are powerless over their current circumstances and must rely on a power greater than themselves to help them.

We can relate, and we are here to help. We know firsthand about the gift of a second chance. We are passionate about rescuing these forgotten dogs. We help them recover and find their way to homes where they will finally know what it’s like to feel safe and loved.
