Her superlative is Miss Congeniality! - Belladonna is the sweetest dog with the best temperment. We call her Belly because she LOVES belly rubs more than anything. She's playful, loyal, very coachable and responsive. She is housebroken as long as she is on some sort of schedule, crate trained and great on a leash. She makes for a great running partner as well. Every dog & human she meets on the street she is curious about and friendly towards. She loves to look out windows, sit on the balcony/porch, enjoys the car and LOVES to be outside and explore. She's just a bit overwhelmed by sounds of the city. Sudden screams from kids outside or a loud siren can make her slightly anxious. Lastly, she has a harder time getting used to guests in her home, but with some encouragement and time to acclimate, she will be a rockstar because afterall she really does love people.
Personality & Characteristics: Sweet, docile, obedient, VERY cuddly, loves belly rubs more than ANYTHING, loves to chew on lush toys and chase after tug toys, loves bully stucks (braided chew ropes, bones, etc). She loves to be outside and sniff around, enjoys the leash (working on her fast pace). She's silly - loves to put her head between your legs if you're standing and she'll peek through. Belly is a great WFH companion.
My foster dog is good with: Dogs. Cats. Children.
My foster dog is: Great with her crate or just solo in a bed overnight or while you're out
3 Keywords for your pup: Loving, cuddly, sweet
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 7 - she'll match the energy you have as well.
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Pretty quiet! She'll bark every now and then or howl at a siren going by.
Walking Manners: Good to walk, getting the hang of all of the city noises & darting small animals everywhere. Redirecting her attention with "Look" or "Hey" is great practice to divert too much time spent trying to look at the dog across the street :)
Appetite: Big (loves any treat & loves any food), but picky on kibble! She'll want bone/chicken/etc broth or something yummy on top of her dry kibble.
Does the following: Great with bath, great in cars, doesn't mind her ears or paws being touched at all
Favorite Things: BELLY RUBS, cuddling, pets, trick/command practice with treats, snuggling, squirrels, napping, rope toys (no plush - she'll probably take the stuffing out), and having zoomies
Commands/Tricks: Come, here, look, sit - very responsive to treats and encouragement. Very coachable through more scary situations (i.e. she was terrified of the elevator, but with some love and encouraging words, by day two, she hopped right in no problem!)
