My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tuesday is in a foster home. To meet her, text Rachael at 440-773-0270.

Hi! I'm Tuesday, and I'm hoping someone will adopt me! If it would help you decide, along with the meet-and-greet, here's what I know about myself:

I'm housebroken!

I'm crate-trained! I especially don't mind going into my crate if I have a couple of treat-filled toys to occupy myself when I'm told to "go to your crate. Sometimes I get too excited with treat-filled toys so I like it if they're only used when I'm in my crate.

I'm a fast learner! I know a few commands: sit, down, shake paw, stop, stay, no-jump and off (sometimes I get too excited to see someone come home!). I'm used to being told to sit before eating from my food dish, and I know how to ring bells or nudge you if I need to go potty.

I love toys! Sometimes I enjoy bringing them to you, sometimes I like fetching them, but sometimes I like taking a toy and being by myself for a while.

I enjoy watching birds and squirrels! I like chasing the squirrels in a fenced-in yard!

I'm athletic, and I love to accompany someone who's walking, jogging, or running. If you're not into that, my favorite activity happens to be running as fast as I can around a fenced-in yard!

I love going for car rides!

I love snuggling once I get to know someone, and I know what "kisses means and I'm happy to offer those too once I get to know someone!

I'm a little skittish around loud traffic, and with the sound of trains and airplanes, but I'm getting more accustomed to these since I've been pretty active outdoors with my foster mom. I'm also a little skittish with having my teeth looked at, my paws touched, getting sponge baths, and having my collar taken off and put on, but I'm also getting more accustomed to these things too. I've also been working with my foster mom on meeting other dogs and other people when we're out on the trails.

Although Tuesday can be around other dogs, we think she'd do best in a home without other dogs or cats. She would also do best with children over 10 years old that will respect her boundaries.

More about this rescue

Berea Animal Rescue Fund “ARF” began in 1987 as a small group of animal lovers started a ‘grassroots’ movement, recognizing the desperate housing and healthcare needs of homeless animals. Their efforts began in the southwest suburban Cleveland area, transforming a family’s garage into an animal "shelter."

The ARF movement grew when the city of Berea provided us a small building, utility costs included. In return, ARF would always have a cage open for the city’s stray animals. Now, after 20 years of service and thousands of success stories later ARF continues to save lives and make friends. ARF is operated in large part by a group of very dedicated volunteers who give their time and endless love to the shelter's furry residents.

Our next big goal is to position ourselves into a roomier facility…a more spacious home to the area's unwanted and abandoned animals. We believe no pet should be euthanized or left behind because lack of such a place. Our facility is overcrowded and outdated by today’s animal welfare standards. ONLY, through the generous support of the community and the dedication of our volunteers, can we make this dream a reality.

2007 was record breaking for ARF with both animals served and operating costs. Much help is needed!

The Berea Animal Rescue Fund “ARF” operates as a No Time Limit Shelter.
We are a 501(c) 3 Non Profit.

ARF's mission statement.... For the betterment of the lives of stray and abandoned animals, Berea’s Animal Rescue Fund, Inc. promises to:

Give loving care and companionship for as long as needed;
Provide shelter, food and medical necessities;
Seek quality homes through adoption programs;
Create public interest and awareness of animal rights and issues; and
Promote action and advocacy for all of the above.
