My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Corduroy - a one year old Belgian Malinois Mix (mostly Belgian)!

He is a sweet and even tempered young boy who will do well with a family willing to continue his training and self-confidence! Malinois experience strongly preferred or similar working dog experience! He is still a young pup with energy and would do best with another friendly pup in the home to give him gentle corrections.

He was born in rescue when his mom was saved and was around dogs and cats but he and his sibling brother developed littermate syndrome, and a fight broke out in the foster home leaving him unsure of how he should act with other dogs and situations and became reactive with random dogs!

In only 1 month with the right guidance (and familiarity with the Maligator behavior he improved and at 3 months with me he is no longer reactive on walks AND frequents the dog park and has done well building confidence to learn when he shouldn't react BUT an owner that has expectations and guidance as at his young age is a MUST so he can continue to be the all around awesome boy! He currently lives with 3 other large dogs in his foster home.

He is crate trained (and likes eating in his crate), is potty trained, knows, sit, shake and "place" the majority of the time!

He is not reactive with food or toys, and for a large puppy, he does well around smaller kids so although we recommend 12 or older, smaller kids may be okay IF the adult remains the main handler!!

More about this rescue

Southern Nevada Animal Rescue League (SNARL) exists to provide a better life for adoptable homeless, abandoned, or abused animals. We aim to assist in the effort of limiting the overpopulation of these animals as well as educate the public against breed or size discrimination. There is no such thing as a “bad breed”, only bad humans. Our mission is to make sure all of the animals we rescue are placed in loving, safe, and viable fur-ever homes.
