FOSTER: Medical foster needed

DESCRIPTION: Gabe went to to Urgent Care when he began to experience some respiratory difficulty and fainting spells. It was determined that Gabe's heartworm infection and large heart has advanced these symptoms. He has begun oral medications to help improve his health while he also takes medication for the heartworms. Gabe would benefit from a foster home where he can rest outside of the stress of the shelter. The vet stated that he needs to be as calm as possible, no walks or strenuous activity.

BIO: Meet Gabe, a sweet, playful, and smart dog with a magical tale. Once, Gabe was a companion to a wizard who adored him. One day, the wizard had to leave on a dangerous quest, and in order to protect Gabe, he sent him to our shelter through a magical portal. Here, Gabe has been charming everyone with his skills; he knows how to sit, lie down, and come when called. His love for stuffed animals is endearing. Adopting Gabe means not just getting a pet, but a loyal friend with a heart full of love and a dash of magic.

Be prepared to spend some time with the pets in our care. We want to ensure we are helping you make a great match!

2.
Submit Application

Once you have decided which pet will be a great fit for your family, we'll have you complete a simple Adoption Survey onsite.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

Staff will review your survey and provide you with any information you may need about your new furry friend.

4.
Pay Fee

Crates/kennels and/or leashes are strongly recommended. We may be able to provide a cardboard carrier for cats and a leash for dogs.

League City Animal Care is here to serve our community and provide a safe and nurturing environment for each animal that comes through our doors. We are the only municipal no-kill animal shelter in Galveston County.

Our services range from stray animal intake and medical treatment to training programs and humane education. We also provide animal protection services, including animal welfare checks, noise complaints, injured wildlife calls, and more. Our Animal Protection Officers serve to protect both human and animal life.

LCAC is able to provide animals with quality care because of our dedicated staff and a community that is committed to supporting us by volunteering, adopting, and donating.
