Zeus was surrendered to the NYC Animal Care Center in Manhattan because his owner no longer had time to care for him. He has previously lived with 2 Adults, 1 Senior Citizen, 3 Children (ages 12-16,) and a Parrot. His family used to take him to the dog park where he would run and play with other dogs.
His former owner had this to say about him: "Zeus is described as a very active, playful, social and
affectionate. He spends most of his time where people
are. He sleeps either in his owner's bed, the kids' bed or
on the sofa. He loves bath time and allows his
owner/family to bathe and brush him. For exercise, he
runs and plays off leash at the dog park. He is trained to
relieve himself outside on walks, on/off leash. When off
leash he stays by his owner's side. He eats Blue Buffalo,
dry good with either cottage cheese, boil/raw eggs,
sardines, and raw chicken. He responds to the following
cues: sit, paw, stay. He loves going on car rides. When
the parrot the female parrot he lived with was loose out of
the cage, he wasn't bothered. When she was in her
enclosure, they would give each other kisses."

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a central building. Our rescue registration number with the State of NY is RR131. For logistical reasons, all of our foster homes are in Lewis and Jefferson Counties. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, we ask you to first fill out the adoption application, which can be found in the main menu. You do not need to live in Lewis or Jefferson county to adopt; we do adopt out of state (and to Canada as well!)
