My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET DRAKA
Draka is a 2 year old female American Pitbull Terrier available for adoption with AWL. Draka is currently in foster care with an AWL employee. Here's what Draka's foster mom has to say about her:
"When Draka first arrived at the shelter, she was very sick, anxious, and stressed. Her and I quickly grew a very strong bond, and I could not let the shelter environment get the better of her. Draka has been living in my home for about a month, and she has absolutely flourished. She has put on a healthy amount of weight, and she has developed the goofiest, most loving personality. Draka does not get along with cats, so a home without cats is required. She is also dog selective, so meet and greets with slow introductions can be done."
If interested in adopting Draka, please fill out adoption application (link below) and call the shelter (765-362-8846) to schedule a meet and greet. We're open tomorrow (Monday 4/15) from 12:15p-5p, come say hi!!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first thing we require the Adopters to do is fill out one of our applications. Once they get that turned into us we call landlords, vets, and references and check to make sure their animals have all been up to date and make sure their landlords( if they have one ) are okay with them bringing home a new animal. We also call the references to make sure they are good animal owners. We will also look at whether or not you have a fenced in yard and how big your yard is ( if adopting a dog). We want to make sure we have the best fit home for the animals. All of our animals have their boosters (adult or puppy). Some are fixed and some are not. We do have a spay/neuter trailer that comes to the shelter at least once a month that spay and neuters our animals.
