Hello everyone! My name is Lily (AKA wiggle butt) because I am so happy to see you, even if I've seen you all day!!! Are you looking for a new best friend? I am a 7 lb, 5 yo chihuahua mix gal who loves snuggles, laps, kisses and more snuggles! Your lap or your arms are my favorite place to be as I will follow you everywhere. I will go outside to do my business, but you have to come with me because it’s a scary world out there and I’m a scaredy cat (um…dog). My mom takes me for walks with the other dogs here, but I haven't figured out if I'm a fan of the whole experience, I just don't understand this leash business. In the last week I've been venturing out to sniff with the other dogs, but then I run right back to moms feet. It’s going to take a while for me to get totally comfortable in a new place. I do like to explore the backyard, but I like to check in constantly to make sure mom is watching. A fenced yard is required. I don't mind being in a crate for short periods of time, and my mom leaves us free and I'm good with that too. I wouldn't like it if you left me alone for long periods of time, I’m just not the kind of doggie who likes to be alone much, I want to be with you as much as I can. I really need to be in a home where someone is home more often than not, k? A fenced yard is required.
I came from a place with lots and lots of dogs. I get very scared when new dogs come near me, and for the first few days I was here, my mom had to feed me on the counter away from everybody because I was too afraid to eat. If any of the other dogs came near me, I would abandon my bowl. I think that’s because of where I came from, huh?My mom can put my bowl on the floor now, but stands near me so I'm comfortable. I think I would love to be your one and only, but If you already have a really low key dog, that may be ok; as long as you give me time to warm up to them. I'm not good with new experiences, but once I'm comfortable you'll see my real personality come out. If you have other dogs, similar size to me is best.
I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and am current on my heartworm and flea prevention too! Maybe you wanna meet me? You can go to www.viprescue.org to fill out and adoption application and make sure to put my name on it. I sure hope my “fur” ever family is out there just waiting for a cutie like me!
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, they must be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years please provide all the names and number for each vet. This breed typically lives 12-15 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets estimated lifespan.
ADOPTION APPLICATIONS: Please visit www.viprescue.org to fill out an adoption application and to also see the many other wonderful pets in our Rescue waiting for their “fur”ever home. All of our staff at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, so please be kind and patient. All information provided in the Adoption application will remain confidential and not be shared outside of designated VIP Rescue Volunteers. We do contact your veterinarian, references, and other information based on the information provided in your application. Incomplete applications or lack of a response from your veterinarian or references will not be processed. We receive many applications for our rescue dogs and for that we are grateful. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Thank you for thinking rescue!
