Barbie was found in the Girard parking tower at ULL, in Lafayette, LA, back in August. We don't know exactly where she came from, but we believe that she rode in the engine of a car into the parking lot and jumped/fell out.
When we got her, she was covered in oily soot and had sustained a fracture to her pelvis. After some intensive TLC, Barbie made a full recovery and is finally ready to find her forever home.
Barbie is a sweet and loving little kitten. She is pretty shy in new situations and startles somewhat easily at loud noises (understandable after all that the poor baby went through), so she needs a calm household with compassionate and gentle owners.
Barbie is somewhat on the independent side. She comes when you call her and excitedly greets her foster parents when they come home from work, but she is content to chill on the bed if you're busy. She's respectful of personal space and probably isn't going to be a lap-cat, but she does like to curl up next to her foster parents while they're watching TV.
She gets along well with other cats and is okay with dogs as long as they aren't too hyper around her and respect her boundaries.
If interested in adopting a pair of kittens, Barbie's foster sister, Juju, would be a great choice. They aren't related, but they get along very well. Of course, they can be adopted separately as well.
Barbie would do best in a quiet home with a family that wants a sweet companion.
NOTE: We are lucky to have not one - but two - Barbies for adoption! Please make sure you mention this is Sam's Barbie!
