My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Howl and Tatsuo! Howl and Tatsuo came from a home with 17 other cats, so they have been working hard at making new friends. Howl is Tatsuo's brave brother who will let you know when he wants attention by meowing and rubbing into you! Tatsuo follows in Howl's shadow, waiting to get the Churu you have while watching you lovingly from afar! These two truly love to play and relax all day! These two will make excellent companions for an experienced cat owner who is willing to help these sweet boys thrive in their new home - because of this these two will need to go to a home with no other animals or small children. With their background and special behavioral needs, it is required that our Training and Enrichment team speaks to potential adopters to help set up you and these fellas up for success in their new home! If you are interested in more information, please stop by our East location to speak to one of our adoptions counselors!

Additional adoption info

To adopt visit us at 1101 Western Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15233 during the Adoption Center Hours below.

Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor (or volunteer) will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's history and needs, behavior assessment and any volunteer / staff comments.

When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information. This process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

What you will need in order to adopt:

A valid PA state ID with your current address.

We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.

Certain animals require additional steps.

Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express and Discover are not accepted as payment.
