My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dale!

Dale is a soft, sweet boy who loves walks, naps, and fetching toys! He is 11 pounds and is full grown. We are unsure of his breed but are thinking Shi Tzu mix! He likely will need regular grooming with his coat type.

Dale was found roaming the woods with his friend Chip. No one is sure how they ended up there but we do know they were out there for upwards of a week, scared and cold. Originally it was thought they would be bonded but after a few days it was apparent they weren’t big fans of each other - this unfondness could’ve been due to both dogs being intact at the time.

Dale is estimated to be pretty young, probably around 2 years old based on his teeth’s health per the vet. He is house trained, rides well in the car, walks good on the leash, and super easy to handle. Currently his fosters are working on clicker training with him! He’s eager to learn!

Dale will need more socialization to people and other animals and needs to build confidence. He is super loving towards who he considers to be his people but does get nervous around strangers. He gets along great with his fosters dog and cat but supervised interactions with new pets until he is comfortable with his new home and friends would be ideal! Has also been exposed to reptiles and horses.

Once Dale bonds to you he is right in your pocket (or lap!) and wants to go and do anything with his people! He has some mild separation anxiety but again with some training and confidence this can be worked through! His forever home might be best suited with retirees or work from home adults who have lots of time to spend. We would like to see him in a home without young kids

Dale is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. A home with a fenced yard would be best!
