Hi! My name is Tomo, and I am IN SOUTH KOREA waiting to be matched to a home in Los Angeles! I was rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea by the DoVE Project. My fate would have been to live in fear and distress, watching dogs being led to slaughter for human consumption. DoVE Project heard about me, and now I am looking for my forever family!

Tomo’s teeth are notably decayed and missing.
Scratch marks on his nose.
Six claws on each hind leg.
BEHAVIOR:
Kind and beautiful Tomo is still carrying a sad trauma from his past within him. Tomo is timid around people, especially strangers. Tomo prefers to sit somewhere by himself or with other timid dogs. When around other dogs Tomo happily roams around and plays with the other dogs. Due to Tomo’s age, he is not as playful as the other younger dogs, but he likes to join in when he can. Tomo is pretty good on a leash, he really enjoys exploring new places and is a good companion for walks. Tomo has not been in a foster home yet.

When Tomo was rescued, he was unhealthy and severely malnourished, requiring veterinary care. After receiving care, he seemed to revel in being clean, having meals, and in living in better conditions.
ABOUT JINDOS
Jindos are known for their fierce loyalty, high intelligence, rarely barking, and playful nature. They make great indoor family dogs, as Jindos are clean and easily housetrained, and are faithful to family members. They are also mid-level active and love being socialized at dog parks, going on hikes, and joining the family on trips.

DoVE dogs come from a traumatic background such as dog meat farms and slaughterhouses. While many of our dogs acclimate within a few months with consistency, structure, and patience, some of our more sensitive dogs can take longer to rehabilitate. It's important to note that these sensitive dogs are even more attuned to human emotions and behavior, making for a deeper connection human-dog connection. DoVE Project is committed to helping our adopters desensitize and socialize our dog meat trade survivors.

After reviewing applications for each pup, our team may contact you for a phone interview.

Home Check
Please send us a video or multiple photos of your home, interior and exterior.
4.
Approve Application
A group decision will be made based on what we believe is the best fit for both the pet and for your family.
5.
Pay Fee
The full adoption fee is paid prior to bringing the pet home.
6.
Take the Pet Home
The pet will come home with you for a 2-week trial.
7.
Sign Adoption Contract
After a successful 2-week trial, the adoption contract is signed.

DoVE Project (Dogs of Violence Exposed) is a 501(c)3 animal welfare, rights and protection organization. As our name is clearly stated, our aim is to end the Dog Meat Trade in S. Korea and other parts of the world where the dogs are slaughtered for human consumption. The condition in which these dogs are raised, bred and slaughtered is extremely brutal and inhumane. We rescue these dogs from dog farms, slaughterhouses, or dogs destined to enter into dog meat trade or be slaughtered to be eaten. Many female dogs that are rescued from the farms/slaughter houses are pregnant and oftentimes their puppies are brought to USA for adoption. Part of our campaign to end the DMT in Korea is rescue work in parallel in conjunction with our campaign to raise awareness and education within Korea.
