More about this rescue

RESCUES ON85TH, a registered 501(c)(3), was formed on December 22 nd, 2021. We are a volunteer-based organization located in Birmingham, Alabama, serving Jefferson County. We assist low-income households struggling to care for their cat(s) and/or dog(s) due to financial difficulties. We are not animal control or a full shelter, we are a mobile community service providing supplies, education, and other assistance for cats and dogs to help prevent surrender and death due to starvation. We accomplish this when funding permits, a depend on public support for our operations.
Our mission is to assist in providing provisions for a safe and healthy living environment for cats and dogs, to strengthen the human-animal bond, and to educate on the importance of animal safety.
