My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Ghost's foster dad: Ghost is my favorite dog out of the many Huskies that I have fostered. He's handsome, affectionate and sweet, is very smart, sleeps in if you do and, loves people and kids and is indifferent to dogs. Ghost is house trained, quiet, has good general house manners and won't mug you while you are eating . He doesn't have separation anxiety. Although he is fine with other dogs, he'd prefer to be an only child, he's fairly blasé about other dogs so if you are looking for a dog park dog, he's not your guy, If you are looking for a cuddly Husky that gives kisses out freely and is that perfect mix of affectionate and independent than look no further. Ghost affectionately known as Cyrus walks well on leash, loves car rides and has medium energy in the house as long as he's had a couple decent size sniffy walks a day. He'd make a great running or biking partner and has a little experience with urban mushing which he loves and becomes very focused when pulling! He was saved from a kill shelter so shows his appreciation any chance he gets. He's such a great dog and would be good for a family with an active lifestyle. Hes not a couch potato dog until exercised like any young Husky. As his foster dad I can't say enough good things about this dog! I'd keep him if it weren't for the fact that right now it's important to foster Huskies since so many are on the streets and in shelters.

You can visit us in Modesto or it may be possible too bring to you, or meet in between. All our adoptions are on a trial basis for the first 30 days, for more info visit www.motherlodehuskyhaven.org.

More about this rescue

Mother Lode Husky Haven is Husky rescue based in Modesto, CA. We are a 501c3 non-profit. Our approach is to provide our Huskys with as much freedom as possible. Generally we are kennel free and our dogs are allowed to pack-up, play, and run free on 6 acres of pasture. We utilize a total immersion approach which emulates an actual home environment, only with a lot of dogs! These dogs need to feel safe, play hard, and get all the love possible. We cannot survive with public support, please visit our website at www.MotherLodeHuskyHaven.org
