My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mr. Bean is a senior Boston Terrier who lived inside a home in a hoarding situation until his owner had to go to a nursing home, at which point someone came by once a week and put food out for the dogs. We heard the odor in the home was horrific. Someone finally stepped in and took charge of the situation. All of the dogs were in such bad shape, that all but Mr. Bean had to be euthanized. When he was initially taken by a good Samaritan who wanted to get him in to a rescue, she noticed blood in his urine. He was put on an antibiotic and that has completely cleared up. We were asked to take him into our rescue and when we met those big beautiful eyes, staring up into ours we just couldn’t say no. He is the sweetest little guy ever, in spite of the rough existence he endured. He is gaining weight and his appetite is good. On 11/6 he weighed 14.2 pounds and we were told he was guesstimated to be between 7-9 years old but our vet thinks he is 9+. Our vet heard a heart murmur so he is now on blood pressure medication to help with that and a diuretic to help with his cough. Mr. Bean has decreased hearing and the beginnings of cataracts. He had one very dirty ear so an ear medication was prescribed to clear that up. He walks well on a leash, rides well in a crate in the car and gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. He will need a dental. Due to his increased age he will not be considered a good candidate for homes with children. He is located in Arkansas. The adoption donation for Mr. Bean is $415 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Mr. Bean, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
