My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Between May 1st and 15th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $50!

Meet Ivy!

Ivy is a remarkable 12 lb Bichon Frise with a heart of gold. At just 2 years old, Ivy's story is one of resilience and hope. She hails from a difficult past in a puppy mill, but Ivy is now in foster care, looking for a forever home where she can experience the love and care she truly deserves.

Ivy's pure, snow-white coat ( which is starting to grow back ) and soulful eyes reflect her enduring spirit. She may have faced adversity, but her gentle nature remains intact. Ivy is a shy, yet incredibly sweet pup who is learning to trust people. Her foster family has provided her with a safe haven, and Ivy is slowly blossoming into the affectionate companion she was meant to be.

In her foster home, Ivy is discovering the joys of a normal dog's life. Ivy's journey to healing is ongoing, and she's ready to take the next step with a family willing to offer her patience, understanding, and a lifetime of love.

Ivy's past does not define her; it's her future filled with warmth and kindness that truly matters. If you have a compassionate heart and the willingness to help Ivy continue her journey to happiness, please consider making her a part of your family.

Ivy is fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio and her adoption fee is $300.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
