My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leche is a very special bunny. He is a beautiful, cream-colored Rex who was rescued from a bad situation by Orange County Animal Services and transferred to us. You would never know that he came from an unfortunate beginning as he has a friendly, gentle personality and is as sweet as pie! Leche loves attention, loves to eat, and is described by his former fosterer as being “one of the cleanest bunnies ever.” Leche is eagerly seeking his forever family.

In his former foster home Leche unexpectedly bonded with the resident rabbit in the house. Unfortunately, this rabbit was found to have E. Cuniculi (a common rabbit disease) and Leche was exposed to it. This should not scare you away from adopting him. Leche has never shown any signs of illness and can go his entire life without any problems, (it is estimated that 50-80% of all domestic rabbits carry EC in their system, and most of them will live out their lives without showing any symptoms), but when there is known exposure it is best to be aware of this. Leche might like a bunny friend, as he has shown interest in the past, so if someone has a female bunny in the same situation they might like to meet! He would also be a wonderful companion for someone who just wants a sweet, dreamy bunny who loves attention.

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
