My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog.

QUINN is available!

Quinn is an estimated 8 year old male Great Pyrenees/possible Golden Retriever mix who came into the MCACC shelter as a stray.  He is a big guy and very gentle.  He is currently with a foster family.  Quinn is a little shy, clings to his foster mom and is protective of her, and likely would do best in an "only dog" home. He is skittish when out for a walk, but he runs around the backyard like a much younger dog. Could YOU provide his "forever home" while he enjoys his remaining years?

All potential fosters and adopters must complete an application, pay the $25.00 application fee and have a home visit before being considered for any dog.   If you reside in Arizona and are interested in adopting Quinn from Arizona Golden Rescue, we recommend that you visit our website asap and complete the Online Adoption Application to begin the process.

WE DO NOT ADOPT OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF ARIZONA.

Once we receive your application and application fee, a home visit will be scheduled. Once your home visit is approved, if Quinn is spoken for, you will be placed on our waiting list. (Please be aware that your application cannot be processed until the application fee is paid.)

Our sole purpose is to find the perfect home for the dog as our dogs always come first.

Because we have new rescues coming in all the time, if the Golden that is the right dog for you is not available at this time it will probably come into Rescue and you would be notified of the availability.

Waiting times vary depending upon how specific your preferences are. The more you restrict the factors involved in choosing a dog – age, sex, coat color, etc. – the longer the wait may be before we have the perfect dog for you.

Please note: it is the policy of AGR not to place a dog less than 3 years of age with a family that has children less than 3 years of age.

If you have specific questions about our adoption process, please go to this link at our website.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters will be required to complete our Adoption Application, read and sign our Adopting Policies and Procedures, and participate in a home visit by one of our adoption representatives. Our Adoption Application is located on our website: www.underdogaz.com.

We also have a mandatory two-week Foster With Intent to Adopt trial period for all animals in order to be certain the pet is a good fit for your family.

Our standard adoption fee for dogs is $200; puppies are $250.

Non-standard fees do sometimes apply. Puppies younger than six months may have a higher fee. Designer dogs, purebreds, and other toy type breeds may also have higher adoption fees than the standard $200.

We do, however, have discounted fees for dogs that are seniors, a pair of dogs adopted together, or cats. If you are a veteran or an active duty service member, please ask about our partnership with Pets For Patriots.

All Underdog pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to adoption.

We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.

Go meet their pets

We attend multiple adoption events throughout the valley during Spring and Fall.
If you are interested in a specific pet, please complete our adoption application found on our website and we can then coordinate a meet and greet.

More about this rescue

Underdog Rescue of Az is an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescuing and re-homing of abandoned and/or abused dogs.

We are a foster-based rescue, and do not maintain a physical base of operations. All of our animals are placed with loving, caring safe foster families until they are adopted. We are also an "All Breed" rescue, and do not discriminate based on breed, age, size, etc.

Underdog's mission also includes educating the public on the issue of animal welfare. We strive to promote shelter reform, spay and neuter education and emergency rescue information & assistance.
