My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Bubba and one of the new pups looking for a home. Now, let me get something out of the way. I had a past and I’m ready to turn over a new leaf in life. It wasn’t a good for me. I’m putting that in the past though. I need a hot minute to make sure you should be my friend but after that I am all hugs and kisses. And I mean a lot of them! Recently I discovered how much I enjoy being affectionate and how much it makes my friends smile and laugh. So cool. Another thing I discovered is that I like calm energy, you know flick on the diffuser and drop in some lavender. Not sure how I feel about cats, kids and other dogs right now so looking for a home that has none of the above. I have lived with other dogs but I’m not sure that’s what I want in like right now. What I am looking for is a couch to sit on to watch some football or a Hallmark movie with my favorite person. Oh, and I hear Hallmark has some new Christmas movies coming out so lots of time to snuggle and eat some snacks together. So if you have some experience and want a guy to enjoy your time with get in contact with my superstar advocate Gabby Hott at hottgabrielle@gmail.com and she can help see if we are meant to be.

More about this shelter

Volunteers needed now. Are you an animal lover, do you have a couple of hours each week to volunteer? Many opportunities available. Work with dogs, cats, bunnies, office work, fostering and more. For more details on volunteering contact Michelle Maltun at (805) 345-5741.

We care for stray and homeless animals, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rabbits and other animals such as chickens, guinea pigs or iguanas. We always hope the family will come to reclaim their lost pet, but if not, we work to find a loving new family for them.

We ensure that dogs are current on their rabies vaccination and license.

At Animal Services, our goal is to ensure that all the animals in our County have a safe place to live. We work hard to find loving homes for the many dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals that come into our care. Together, with community partners and concerned citizens, we are making sure that all these animals have a "Forever Home!"
