This beautiful girl got to AAC in November. While we are still learning more about her, we can tell you that she is a perfect candidate for living with another dog in her forever home. When in playgroup with other pups, she is curious, relaxed and confident. Because of this, she currently has a doggy roommate at AAC. To ensure compatibility, we recommend a doggy meet up that we will host with your resident dog.
With humans, Sunflower can be a little shy at first meeting. We know that her calm and loving nature will shine through once she feels at ease, like it has already with Staff & Volunteers. At just 1 year old, we are hoping that Sunflower finds her forever family ASAP. A 1 year old pup deserves to experience the world, love and cuddles in a stable home.
1 year old pups like Sunflower offer the opportunity to still shape and mold their behaviors, and to create a strong bond and instill positive habits. We hope that you come in to meet this pretty girl so you can be a part of witnessing the exciting milestones of her growth, like learning tricks and commands, exploring new places!

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
