My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

3) APPLICATION REQUIRED (link at the end).

Millie is spunky kitten who will win your heart with her undeniable sass, determination, and powerful purr motor. When she’s not fearlessly exploring her surroundings, she’s happy to curl up in your lap. Bonus: Millie loves to be held like a baby wrapped in a blanket.

Because Millie has escaped a number of playpens, she’s currently working on harness training. She has great potential to become a backpack cat and would love to go on adventures with you. She currently lives with other cats, a dog, and a baby, so any home could be a great fit for her.

Millie has partial hind leg and tail paralysis, but doesn’t let it deter her from being a cat—just don’t count on her to knock things off your counters. She’s also incontinent and doesn't require a litter box. Millie gets her bladder manually expressed twice a day. She thinks it’s the best time of the day because she gets treats! Her foster mom will be available for ongoing support and cat sitting (if you live within 45 minutes of Rocklin) for as long as you need it.

If you’re interested in learning more about Millie, please feel free to contact us with any questions or to submit an adoption application. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FELV/FIV, and ready to charm her way into your home!

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****

APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs if we think it's a potentially good match.

INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.

APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.

TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.

WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
