My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kaida means protector, female warrior and little dragon in Japanese. Her name was inspired by her origin story where her and her brother were found in a box and left outside the Long Beach shelter.

We think her breed is more Matosan Mountain Dog and less Labrador as the shelter predicted. She will not be very big but will fill out into her body and ears :)

Kaida is now 7 months old, spayed and crate trained, however, due to her early health issues she has not been properly socialized yet with other dogs, kids or cats. She has had very limited interactions and will start being exposed more now that her health is much better and we do not have to worry about getting other dogs exposed to illness.

Kaida is a typical puppy full of energy and lots of playtime, she loves her toys, cuddles and is learning to walk on leash, like I said we are a little behind our normal process of puppy training but she is smart, wants to please and has a wonderful disposition.

No exposure to young kids.
No exposure to cats as of yet.

We are looking for someone who understands that her health came first and that are willing to be patient and take Kaida on as a family member.

More about this rescue

Our rescue is home based and foster based. We have an amazing family of fosters for our dogs who treat these dogs as their own but we need more now. Our dogs can only thrive in a home environment and we have more dogs than fosters right now, please email if you are able to foster one of our dogs that you might see on our site or one in the future. Fostering not only saves dog's lives and helps rescue save another dog but also you as the foster are providing a loving "home" environment while getting the companionship of a loving dog. All of our dogs are people friendly and most are house and crate trained, some are trained in basic commands and all are safe and healthy.
We take pride in all of our dogs and ensure they are a proper fit for the adopter prior to placement.
We are run on donations to our rescue and always need help to keep the dogs vetted, healthy, happy and in safe keeping, whatever it takes for the dogs, we do.
If you are interested in volunteering your time or making a donation to our rescue please email us and tell us what you're interested in doing. We welcome everyone!
