My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Edgar came to Longmeadow this year with two other equine when his previous owners could no longer care for them. This handsome Mustang gelding turned heads with his spunky personality and young-at-heart demeanor. His dark coat and unique markings have attracted the eyes of many!

Although Edgar is 28 years old, he does not act like it! He is sprightly and lively and enjoys his time spent with his friends. Upon evaluation, our trainer found that he was trained under saddle and neck reins! Although he has age-appropriate arthritis, this man doesn’t let it stop him from being his best self! He would do best in a home who wants him for light riding, however, and would be best as a walk/trot horse due to this arthritis. Since he can be a bit pushy on the ground, we also prefer his adopter to be an intermediate rider/handler to help continue his training. Edgar has been working on patiently standing tied and has gotten better with time and consistency.

The move to Longmeadow from his previous home was a little bit difficult for Edgar, but with patience and time, he has adjusted well to life at Longmeadow! His adopter should have a good balance of patience and firmness to help Edgar be the best he can be (both on the ground and under saddle) at his new home.

** It should be known that Edgar has tested positive for Cushings and requires a tab and a half of Prascend, which he eagerly eats off his grain each morning!**
