My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rigatoni

Now Rig "rings his bell" to say he needs to go outside, watch..... https://youtube.com/shorts/GRQxqCf4Pj4

PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us.

Meet Rigatoni, an adorable male mixed breed puppy who is about 22 weeks old and recently rescued from South Carolina with siblings and mom. Mom is a 20 pound terrier/chihuahua mix, we do not have information on dad but he is on track to be about 40-45 pounds. He is the biggest lover, a great cuddler and loves to zoom and play. Great company for a person working from home. Mostly housebroken if monitored and allowed out frequently. Now neutered and microchipped. Hoping for a home with another dog, he does better with a companion.

Rigatoni will make an exceptional playmate to your current dog or your kids.... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7VZehE8VTl0

APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application)

The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped.

Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top

We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.-

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, foster-based, all volunteer rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilating dogs at risk and in danger of an untimely death. We bring dogs to us from rural areas where there is a large stray population, spays are infrequently done and pounds and shelters are high kill when they fill up. Adoption rates are high in our area.
