My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster notes, 5/1/24:
Former semi-feral mama, Miss Betty, has amazed me with her progress! She was an excellent mama to her four adorable kittens, who all found loving forever homes. But I thought she would only be adoptable as a barn cat, or need to be returned to a managed colony. Apparently, Miss Betty had other ideas on the matter! Although my resident cats and I are still working diligently to show her how wonderful petting, scratches, and cuddling are, she is still not completely on board with human touching. But, from the time Miss Betty left the kitten room, she has been in love with my resident cats...especially my 17 pound long hair Zeus! Perhaps she misses the other cats in her former colony. I now feel Miss Betty will do best in a home with at least one other friendly cat that she can become buddies with. Also, I feel a home without young children will be a better fit for her. While she`s with me, I will continue to work with her on her shyness with humans and human touch. I feel that she has the potential to be an amazing house cat very soon!

From the time she arrived with her four newborn kittens, Miss Betty has used the litter box, eaten all kinds of food, and has never soiled or scratched the rugs or furniture. She has been amazing considering she lived outside in a feral colony. She now has the run of the full house with my resident cats, sleeps and plays where they do, and eats with them every morning. Miss Betty learned how to use the cat door to my screened porch within one day of leaving the kitten room. She is a very smart girl who learns new things very quickly.

Miss Betty is a very playful girl who loves toys and wrestling with her two foster brothers, Zeus and Mooney. Although she is half his size, she will pounce on Zeus to get him to play with her. She and Mooney will chase each other through the house then wrestle until one gives in. She also is a good solo player and can amuse herself when the others are tired of playing. She has a sweet personality and once she is comfortable with touches and petting, I feel she will be an affectionate cat. It will just take someone with lots of love and patience to help her blossom. Are you her Someone?
