Meet Spot in Mays Landing! He is a very handsome blue merle Aussie blend that was rescued from an Oklahoma shelter. He is neutered, current on immunizations and on preventatives. He is learning both sit and down commands. He just started playing with balls and chewing on Kong's. He is a super love bug and climbs up on the recliner to sleep on your lap. He really seems to love everyone he meets.
Spot is a pistol! He is a hopper and leaper. Plays rough with the other dogs in the home but backs off when they say enough. He is NOT good with cats. He does not have great recall and pulls hard on leash, so he needs work in that area. He will bolt through doors. He needs a very active person to keep his mind and body busy. He is people friendly and gets excited and may knock over small children, so older children are recommended.
Spot is very food motivated and learns quickly. He kennels quietly all night and when we go out like a good boy. He is housebroken and has had no accidents inside. If you think that Spot is a great match for your family, please fill out the application.
Here is the link: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family.

More about this rescue
Nancy Gonzalez, founder and CEO, created Australian Shepherds Furever (ASF), a non-profit organization to promote the educated adoption and rescue of the Australian Shepherd (Aussie) dog breed.
In July of 2012, ASF initiated as a Facebook page hoping to have 1,000 user "likes" by the end one year. The page quickly outgrew expectations, now with a network of nearly 81,000 individuals striving to provide aid and refuge to Aussies all over the country.
Using the Facebook page as a platform, the website www.australianshepherdsfurever.org was developed as an additional resource aimed at educating the public on this intelligent and beautiful breed. It provides resources for those seeking help, or those willing to contribute to the Adopt, Save, Foster (ASF) philosophy. Through this philosophy, ASF has saved the lives of countless dogs and helped to provide assistance to those that have nowhere else to turn.
We as humans have a responsibility to speak up and take action in favor of those beings that are less fortunate. Thanks to a team of passionate and proactive volunteers, Aussies nationwide are given a chance at a better life through Australian Shepherds Furever.
