My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All the women who independent........Throw your paws up at me!

While Depop is undoubtedly an independent lady, she isn't a honey who can make money and is on the hunt for a forever home that can support her lifestyle. Depop recently came to the US from Thailand, and while she has historically needed to depend on herself to survive, she is learning to let others care for her and provide her with love, play, and comfort.

There is nothing Depop loves more than to cuddle up with her foster parents. Even five minutes of cuddle time go a long way with Depop, who will be affectionate and adoring to her future family. But don't worry, Depop has an independent side, too. After cuddle time, she can just as easily entertain herself while her foster parents get some work done. She enjoys long walks and playing tug of war, and has as much energy as you are willing to match.

What's even better? Depop is fully potty AND crate trained. She rarely barks, too! She can be dog selective, so it may be best that she is the only dog in the household. She has been ok with a mellow male dog who let her be the alpha female she was born to be. And no cats, please.

When on walks, Depop is still learning some manners and will need a family that will continue to work on her leash training when she encounters other dogs. Depop likes to pretend she is very mature, but she is still a puppy, so don't let her fool you. She enjoys nylabones, toys, long walks, and a game of tug of war.

If you are looking for a dog to bring positive vibes and lots of kisses and hugs to your home, look no further! Apply to adopt Depop today!

More about this rescue

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.

Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
