Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sometimes, despite how much you love each other, you must part ways.
For serious personal reasons, Michaela’s human needs to find her a new home. They have been together since she was eight weeks old, every day, every adventure… all love.
You could hear it in his voice, the love. True companions. We didn’t have the heart to push for the exact reason she needs a new home. His heartache was palpable as he stammered that “something is going on in my life” and he can’t keep her.
What we do know is that Michaela has had a loving home her entire life. She is good with dogs, might follow a cat around the house (so ideally no kitties in the home, although perhaps with good training she could live with a cat).
She's housetrained, walks nicely on leash and is perfectly behaved in the house. She's social with humans and her person feels she could possibly go to a home with respectful older children. She would like a yard or land to sniff on.
She’s obviously lovely off leash and loves adventures, as you can see in her photos above.

Michaela’s health is reported to be good. She's a purebred Australian Shepherd, spayed, 8 years old, and a really special girl. Please share her story and help us find her a home.
She’s in the Boulder area… still with her human. Her adoption fee is $195.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Michaela, send us an email at summitdogrescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
