My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tobias the Gentleman! Tobias is a distinguished young pup with a coat of sleek, coppery fur that gleams in the sunlight. This ray of sunshine has a squishy face (perhaps he's part Dogue de Bordeaux?) and a bright, warm personality that makes him an absolute joy to be around.

Tobias is friendly and outgoing, he loves meeting new people and having his cheeks squished (it's hard to resist that adorable face). Like a true social butterfly, he loves nothing more than getting out and about. He would love to have someone accompany him on walks and hang out with him at local restaurants, breweries, or coffee shops. Tobias has been an excellent companion when going on outings, and has been a complete gentleman when passing by other people (including children) and dogs. Tobias would thrive in a household where he can be an integral part of the family, participating in activities and outings together. He's adaptable and easy to please, making him the perfect addition to a loving home.

Tobias is very dignified and polite. He's also up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. This charming prince is just waiting for the right person to come rescue him, so if you're searching for a loyal and affectionate companion to brighten your days and join you on all of life's adventures, go and meet this handsome mister at the New Orleans Campus (1700 Mardi Gras Blvd).

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The LA/SPCA pet adoption process includes meeting with a matchmaker to match your lifestyle with the perfect companion. You will spend time with any of the pets you think would be a great companion. You may even want to come back another day to make sure he is the one! All of our animals must be spayed or neutered before you can take them home. Sometimes your perfect companion has not had this procedure done, so please be patient with us if you have to come back to pick him up.

All of our animals have been spayed or neutered before they are released for adoption. We encourage anyone with animals to spay or neuter their pets.

More about this shelter

Chartered in 1888, the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA) is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state. Our mission is to advocate for the animals of Louisiana by advancing their welfare, promoting their interests, and fostering the human-animal bond through innovative programs, education, and service.

The LA/SPCA is not a state, parish or city governed shelter. We are an independent 501(c)3 non-profit offering a broad range of services and programs including advocacy, legislative services, statewide cruelty investigations, sheltering, full-service animal control (Orleans Parish only), adoption, disaster response, education, and obedience programs.
