My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***ADOPTABLE SPORT & WORKING DOG NEEDS FUREVER HOME***
Currently in Boise, ID

Meet WEDNESDAY!

She's a sweet, friendly, loving, getting close to 2-year-old, 46.8 lbs hound mix gal who found herself in the Jerome Shelter before rescue. She loves being around people, especially kids, but may have a history with men so she is very wary of men. She is great in off-leash play with other dogs and especially good with puppies.

WEDNESDAY scored a great foster home with two elementary school-age kids and with other dogs that come in for dog-sitting, so we have learned a lot about her. They say that it has been 'such a pleasure' to have her in their home. They say that she is a snuggler and enjoys getting neck scratches. WEDNESDAY has no problem with teenaged boys, but she's afraid of men. We've made a lot of progress, and she's generally ok with "dog men" or those that earn her trust, but she has growled at a few men on walks.

WEDNESDAY is wicked smart and sassy. Foster mom has even called her strong-willed. She will need a leader to make sure that she doesn't try to your family leader. She is extremely food-motivated so reinforcing good behaviors should be easy.. She has a cute habit of jumping high in place when she is happy, but is not destructive or hurtful to her people.

WEDESDAY does well in the car. WEDNESDAY is housetrained, but does not currently have free run of the house because she is a counter-surfer. She is crate-trained so stays in her crate when family has to leave the house.

We have learned that WEDNESDAY does best with lots of mental and physical enrichment. Foster mom uses lots of dog puzzles to keep her mind occupied. WEDNESDAY is an athletic dog who loves running the trails and, in typical hound fashion, will follow her nose. She could be a good candidate for an agility or search-and-rescue dog or a family member that needs a running partner.

We've learned that WEDNESDAY's skin will do better with grain-free dog kibble to keep her coat skiny and smooth.

WEDNESDAY's adoption fee is $225 and includes health vaccines, spay surgery, rabies vaccine, health exam, and microchip.
