My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.

Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Meet Annie!

Annie is an 8-year-old, 16 lb Maltese mix who was removed from a cruelty situation and brought to the PSPCA. She was dirty, full of fleas, and suffering from skin, eye, and ear infections. This sweet baby was brought into our care and the healing process began.

It was determined that Annie was 100% blind due to untreated eye infections, and because her eyes were causing her so much pain, they had to be removed. She was spayed, had a dental and received medications to clear up her ear and skin infections. Annie doesn’t hear very well and will probably need help with stairs. However, don’t let her blindness fool you. This amazing pup quickly figures out how to navigate new surroundings. Once she knows where the furniture and walls are, she easily avoids bumping into them and she is an expert at finding dog-beds and soft blankets to lounge on. Annie is completely housebroken and lets you know when she needs the potty. She can also use wee wee pads if you are not home.

Annie is wonderful with other dogs and cats and is completely non-reactive if someone bumps her. She loves laying next to or on top of other animals to snuggle with. Annie is a calm dog who loves to ride in the car, walks great on a leash, and loves loves loves being held and kissed. She is basically about as perfect a dog as you can get. This sweet senior needs a new beginning and a house full of love. Can it please be with you? Apply today!
