Meet our very handsome pup named Shadow! Shadow was surrendered us after his owner could no longer care for him properly. Shadow is about 1.5 years old and we think he is some kind of Shepherd and Rottweiler mix. He is a large boy, but he is not overly jumpy or super rambunctious. Shadow does still have a puppy personality, but he listens well to correction. He already knows how to sit, give paw, and lay down. Shadow is very attentive when we are outside with him. He tends to follow us right at our side when we walk around the backyard. He will chase after a tennis ball, but he doesn't have much of a ball drive. He seems to prefer soft, squeaky toys. Shadow will need regular exercise to keep him happy, but he is not overly energetic most of the time. He will make a great companion for someone who is looking for a smart, attentive dog who wants to please. Shadow can go to a home with children 12 years old and older who have large dog experience.

MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. The office phone number is 203-235-4179. Leave a message, and someone will call you back promptly.
You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.
An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
