Personality

Hi, I'm Roku! I'm super relaxed, especially for a husky. I love walks, to chase balls, to sit down with a bone, and to play tag, but when I'm not doing any of those things, I'm lying down by the window for some sun and breeze.

I love people so much -- I'm always at coffee shops, bars and restaurants, saying hi to everyone and shedding all over the floor as they pet me. At this point, all the baristas, waiters, and bartenders know my name!

Like you, I like some dogs more than others. But I love playing with my dog friends, I'm happier with them and they calm me down when my people have to leave me home.

I walk great on a leash, and always listen when I'm told to "sit, down, stay, come, leave it, or take it"!

Why I am looking for a new home

Roku is truly the best boy, he just has some separation anxiety which has been hard to manage since I live alone and am now required to go into work & rehearsals most days of the week. He is on anxiety medication and has worked up to being able to be left alone for a few hours on it, but that can be extended with more training.

If your adoption application is selected as the best fit to continue in the adoption process, a volunteer will contact you.

3. Home check
After reviewing your application and phone interview, we will conduct a home check.

4. Meet the pet
The ASR volunteer will help coordinate a play date between you and the foster so you can meet the pet.

We are a 100% volunteer based rescue and due to the large number of adoption applications we receive, we are unable to respond to each individual applicant. If your application is selected to continue in the adoption process, a volunteer will contact you via the phone number provided on your adoption application.
Amazing Strays Rescue knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by but most importantly, through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2018, realized that by working with Shelters we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch Amazing Strays Rescue.
