Archie is a handsome Yellow Lab (mix?) who loves food, fetch, and his family! He is a sweet guy who is being surrendered due to changes in the home with a new baby. He has so many good traits—housetrained, cratetrained but doesn’t need it, minds his manners in the house, and medium energy. He does also have a couple quirks that will need to be worked on. He is an underconfident guy with strangers. Out in public he doesn’t have any issues meeting people but in his home he displays a little bit of stranger danger where if he can’t meet the person or the person doesn’t interact with him he will bark at them. He has never shown aggression or anything beyond a bark. Archie similarly displays reactivity to dogs when he is walking on leash. He has made a ton of progress in both areas but will need a home that will continue the training to improve these behaviors and help Archie gain confidence in himself and in the world so that he doesn’t feel like he has to react when he is uncomfortable. Archie has had a couple seizures and his vet placed him on anti-seizure medication. At this time they are suggesting he remain on it as he has been seizure free since starting it. He would be best in a quieter home with older kids or no kids (visiting kids are fine, he has never had an issue with them).
Requirements: Older kids. A home willing to continue his training
Adoption Fee: $450 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives.
