My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Malcolm Reynolds (Mal) is about ten years old and only 6 lbs. He is fully ready for adoption. He will need to use belly bands at home. He will need medicine for gallbladder stones for the rest of his life, but it isn't expensive. He only has four teeth, so he will forever need soft food.

The adoption area is limited to within a four-hour drive of Hammond, LA. Due to his small size and delicate frame. he cannot be in a home where there will be young children.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please email carrol.seniordogsrock@mail.com to request an adoption application. It will be emailed to you so you can fill it out.

2.
Interview

Once the application is submitted, checks will be done followed by a phone interview.

3.
Home Check

If the interview goes well, a home check will be done during which the potential adopter can meet the adoptable pet.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If the home check goes well and the pet likes the family members, the adopter will sign a contract agreeing to expectations on both sides.

5.
Pay Fee

There is a request for a donation to the rescue at the time of adoption to pay it forward and help another dog.

6.
Take the Pet Home

My process may take a bit of time, but I have made promises to the dogs here to make sure they get the very best. I intend to keep that process.

Home of Misfit Pets is a 501(c)(3) sanctuary for senior and special needs dogs. Sometimes healthy younger dogs find their way here. These dogs will be adopted to the best homes that can be found.
