My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well, hello there, fabulous humans! I'm Ugly Betty, the purr-sonality-packed feline sensation who's ready to charm her way into your heart faster than you can say "meow"! Now, don't let the name fool you—I may have started off as a neighborhood beggar with a less-than-glamorous coat and a penchant for flea fashion, but oh boy, have I blossomed since then!  Initially mistaken for a unsocialized community cat, I found myself caught up in the whole TNR (trap-neuter-return) drama. But surprise, surprise—I'm actually a sucker for some good old-fashioned rubs and a sunny windowsill to bask in. Talk about a purr-fect turn of events! When it comes to canine companions, I'm a bit cautious, but I’ve made an exception for a handsome boxer (my foster pup)—until he crosses the line with his slobbery antics, that is! A few swift slaps later, and he's learning who's boss. Now, I'm on the hunt for my forever home—a place where sunny windows are aplenty, laps are always warm, and feed bowls are never empty. And hey, maybe it's time for a new nickname to match my newfound cuteness! Suggestions welcome—just make sure they're as fabulous as yours truly, Ugly Betty, the cat with a glow-up like no other! #GlowUpQueen

Go meet their pets

We will be holding adoption event days with PetSmart on Ft Jackson Blvd and Two Notch Rd as well as PetSense on Garners Ferry Rd. These are partnerships that we've initiated and that have been greeted with open arms by these great organizations. MUCH More to Come!

More about this rescue

At Cat Around Town Project, we believe that by spaying and neutering as many stray and colony cats as possible, we are proactively controlling overpopulation at its source. All kittens and any cats that are adoptable are removed from the colonies and adopted to suitable homes. One day, when the supply meets the demand, there will be a home waiting for every kitten in our community. .
