My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Garnet! A litter of (13) puppies was dumped at our local shelter and they asked for help. We don't know much about the pups, other than they appear to be German Shepherd mixes. DNA was a bit of a surprise, and yes, they look a bit like Malinois' but they are pretty chill. Typical happy puppy! At about 13 weeks old, she's on the small side, maybe 14#. We don't think she will be bigger than maybe 55# when fully grown.

Garnet is sooooo sweet. She is living with a foster family. She has been exposed to dogs, cats, kids. She's great with them all. These puppies LOVE life. They love people, love other dogs. They are sweet and social and active. A large fenced yard would be ideal. She's bouncy and all puppy! Garnet is crate trained, sleeps through the night.

This puppy is spayed, microchipped and will just need one more set of puppy shots, plus rabies. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. This puppy is ready for it's forever home.

Adoption fee is $475 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
