My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lumi, our delightful 4-year-old Jindo/Spaniel mix weighing 30 lbs. Lumi is a gem in so many ways! She's a great walker, isn't fazed by loud noises, and has the most beautiful long eyelashes.

Lumi loves holding hands. She's an affectionate companion who enjoys being close to her humans, and her foster has been working with her to develop more independence alone. She's also a fan of bully sticks and has the cutest little stretchy dance when she pees.

However, Lumi does need an adopter with a flexible schedule and a willingness to be her leader and work on her training for being alone. With the right guidance and patience, she will thrive and make an excellent addition to your family. She's doing fantastic with her trainer, and we know she will be a great companion for life!

Lumi's adoption fee is $300.

Lumi is a Foster-to-Adopt VIP, and we are offering a 30-day trial period that includes two free lessons with a dog trainer, free food, and basic supplies that will be temporarily loaned. Check out our Foster-to-Adopt FAQ for more details: http://www.koreank9rescue.org/foster-faq/#foster-to-adopt.

We encourage you to submit your adoption application before the events for pre-approval. This can speed up the process and help you find your furry friend faster.

More about this rescue

We rescue dogs from the Korean dog meat trade. We work in partnership with local and regional Korean dog rescues and high kill shelters. Many of our dogs come from the brutal dog meat trade and also puppy mill survivors. None of these dogs will get adopted in their homeland.

We work to end the dog meat trade in Korea where over 2.5 million dogs a year are tortured and slaughtered for consumption because of the belief that tortured dog meat gives medicinal benefits. We stand with the Korean animal activists and rescuers in Korea. A portion of the adoption fee goes back to these groups in Korea.
