My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/. Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit.

Lucy is an approximately 10 year old 11 lb terrier mix who was brought to a New Jersey shelter as a stray in early August. She came in to our rescue with a cough that despite antibiotics progressed to full blown pneumonia. She had extended medical treatment for 6 weeks, and isolation from other pack members. During this time a corneal abrasion led to a ruptured eye.

This sweet girl has had a rough go of it medically, but Lucy was finally healthy enough to undergo her vetting procedures and is now ready to find her furever home. She is not on any maintenance medications.

Lucy does fine navigating all around with her good eye. She can do some stairs, sleeps well in her dog bed, eats eagerly, and gets along with the rest of the pack. She is doing well pottying on a schedule. She is a quiet girl. After a bout of vestibulitis Lucy has her wiggles back and is better once on 4 feet again. Her foster family is working on her comfort level with being picked up again.

Lucy will need a patient adopter who will continue to help her to build up her confidence and know that she is safe and loved. Could this be you?
