My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Posted on 11/21/23 Pippi came to us together with her little canine sister Alda from a local animal shelter. Pippi is a super cute, super adorable, and a super couch and bed buddy 6 lb. pure bred Min Pin girl! She is very small but has a mighty personality and she must greet everybody with loud "who are you?" barking. She can be a bit shy initially but warms up very quickly especially if you have a treat! Her foster mom reports that Pippi has made significant progress with her potty habits - if she is on a regular schedule with going outside in the yard or for a walk, there are no accident. However we cannot guarantee that she won't have an accident during the adjusting period in a new home. Pippi is fun to have around and she wants to be near her human as much as possible. She likes to curl up in a cozy blanket on the couch and she likes to go outside in the yard and bark at whatever deserves it. Pippi is very attached to her younger canine sister, the two are always together and look for each other when one is not near by. For Pippi (and her younger sister Alda who is only about 3 years old) we are looking for a home with active humans who can give them a lot of attention (ideally no other pups in the household), take them for regular walks and play with them in the yard. Both pups are very good in the car and they seem to enjoy outings. Pippi and Alda need a home with a securely fenced in yard and no children under the age of 12. We have not seen how they behave around cats but don't anticipate problems. Pippi is fine with other small dogs. Pippi is current on vaccinations including Rabies, she is spayed, she is micro chipped, she tested negative for heartworm and she is on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. If you are interested in adopting Pippi please fill out an adoption application on our web site. If you don't hear from us within 48 hours of submitting the form please contact us via email at inthenest@gmail.com If we think it is a promising fit we will contact you via e-mail or phone.
Pippis adoption fee is $200

More about this rescue

The Nest,is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Our mission is to rescue, restore, and re-home animals that come from local animal shelters or from individuals who contact us directly.

We are guided by the following ideals:

We will always place the physical and mental well-being of our animals above our own and that of other individuals, making a constant effort to act as an advocate for the animals we serve.

We will to the best of our ability assist in the care and placement of animals that require our assistance, regardless of age, demeanor, physical or behavioral health, because we believe that all animals at any stage in life and health have inherent value and an important place in the world in which we all live.

We will provide educational support for those individuals who seek our assistance, believing that educating the public is one of the keys to keeping animals in their homes and preventing senseless euthanasia.

We will provide ongoing care and homes for animals we cannot place in adoptive homes, because we believe that animals that make their way to The Nest should be cared for until their last days.
