My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Considering adopting? The first step is to do the application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application
Please do not call the shelter, do the application first.

Loki, born about 7/1/22, originally arrived as a stray. She had one trial adoption, and her adopter ADORED her... but the other dog in the family was not at ALL interested in sharing the home with Loki, so back she came. She is now in a temporary foster home.

This high energy girl weighs about 50 pounds, is housetrained, loves toys and adventures, and enjoys all sorts of people. She plays well with other similarly sized dogs. She would likely chase a cat that runs from her, but if you have a dog-savvy cat that will stand his ground, Loki may be able to be trained to tolerate them.

Her foster mom reports she is a confident girl who absolutely loves to share the couch and the bed, so Loki would not be well suited for a "no dogs on the furniture" sort of home.

This strong and athletic girl will need lots of exercise and adventure, and would love to learn something fun like agility or parkour or dancing, or to accompany her people on all sorts of interesting trips. Who would like to introduce Maunaloa to the joys of pupperccinos and some of our beautiful PNW hikes?

NOTE: FOR THE REST OF 2023, A DONOR IS SPONSORING ADOPTION FEES FOR SELECTED PETS! This means any adoption payment from the adopter is optional and will be fully tax-deductible; if the adopter's donation is less than our normal adoption fee, the sponsor will make up the difference.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Loki is a suggested minimum of $125 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
