Hello world, I’m Sadie Mae! Thanks for visiting my page and considering adding me to your family. I am an affectionate, 2 year old lab. Not to be picky, but this shelter life isn’t cutting it for me anymore. I am too sweet and loving to spend my days in a kennel. I know the world has so much to offer and I’m hoping that I can find my family and owner to experience it with!
I’m calm, cool and collected. I’m so easy going that I may just let you dress me up in bandanas and costumes like you see in my pictures. While I like walks and play time, I love long naps, cuddles on the couch, and entertaining myself with a bone, puzzle toy, or stuffed animal. I hope your couch has room for me! I recently went on a shelter outing with one of my favorite volunteers and I spent time with an older kid! I gave this kid all the cuddles and love, so I think I might make a good sister. Bring the family and older kids in to meet me, and let`s see!
Not to brag, but I am also an excellent leash walker & house trained! I try my best to have good manners because I want to keep our home and our walks enjoyable for us both. I have so much love to give and just need to find the right folks to take me in. I promise to be a loyal girl for the rest of my lifetime!

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
