My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Hank: A Goofball Hound Ready for a Loving Home! 🐾

Rescue Story: Hank was rescued from a high-kill shelter where he was found as a stray, enduring the harsh realities of life on the streets. Despite facing adversity, Hank has emerged with a heart full of gratitude and a resilient spirit.

Physical Features: With a striking tri-color coat and soulful brown eyes, Hank's appearance exudes the charm and character typical of hound breeds. He carries a subtle limp from an old injury on his foot, a testament to the challenges he has overcome.

Personality: Hank is a gentle soul who has undoubtedly faced life's hardships with grace. Despite his past, he radiates warmth and positivity. His friendly demeanor extends to both his canine companions and the people he encounters. Hank thrives on human interaction, and his tail wags enthusiastically at the prospect of a kind word or gentle pat.

Compatibility: Hank is an excellent playmate for other dogs, showcasing his social skills in various canine interactions. His laid-back nature makes him an ideal companion for families, couples, or individuals looking for a loyal and loving four-legged friend.

Activity Level: While Hank appreciates a good stroll, he is equally content lounging beside his favorite humans. His easygoing nature makes him adaptable to various living situations, whether it's a bustling family home or a more serene environment.

Training and Behavior: Hank is quick to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement. Given his past, he may benefit from a patient adopter who can continue to build his confidence and provide the love and stability he deserves.

Health: Despite his previous struggles, Hank is in good health. Routine veterinary care and a balanced diet will ensure he continues to thrive and enjoy the second chance at a happy life that he so richly deserves.

Ideal Home: Hank would thrive in a home where he is showered with love and attention. A family or individual who appreciates the loyalty and companionship of a rescue dog would be an ideal match for him. A secure and loving environment will help Hank continue to blossom and leave the shadows of his past behind.

If you are ready to open your heart and home to this resilient hound, please consider adopting Hank. His journey from a high-kill shelter to a loving forever home is a story waiting to be written, and you could be the one to complete the happy ending. Contact us to arrange a meet-and-greet with Hank, and let the next chapter of his life be filled with love, joy, and the warmth of a caring family. 🐾❤️

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
