Muffin is 3 years old, born 10-2-20. 6.5-7 lbs. He is unique in both looks and personality! Tall and slender. His mom looked like an Italian greyhound/ chihuahua mix. He was born very premature, at 1-2 oz. He has semi-long, straight hypoallergenic fur. Very smart. He is used to being here and will likely be nervous at first in a new home. He would probably do best with other dogs there. He does very well with other small dogs, especially young ones, and he does well in a pack. He's appointed himself babysitter of the puppies here and plays with them. He LOVES toys and can play fetch - and he will be best friends with anyone that throws his favorite toy for him! But he's not a dog that will go on walks - he doesn't like leashes or harnesses. He also doesn't like being carried/held for long periods. He does sit next to us on the couch.
To give him practice being in a home, he's spent some time in a foster home, where he started off well behaved but scared. It helped him to have a space like a crate to go when he wanted alone time. He also wasn't sure what his job should be (since he was used to looking after the puppies here), but then he figured his job was to help his foster mom. On his most recent stay he had hardly any shyness anymore. One issue is that he didn't want to eat dog food in the home (which he does at the rescue) but he would eat treats and some of his favorite human foods (like bread and Chinese food).
