Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet little Angela is a 28# Heinz 57 mommy. She was a stray who was taken in by Good Samaritans in a rural area when she was pregnant. The plan was for her to come to PUP to have her puppies, but nature prevailed and she had them the day before she was scheduled to be picked up by PUP. She stayed with her temporary family for several weeks before she and her two puppies came to Saint Paul to begin their new lives.
Angela has been a super mom. If mom dogs are supposed to do it, she does it and does it well. But, she is more than just a good mom. She is sweet, walks well on a leash, is house broken and playful with other similar sized dogs. She is cautious meeting new dogs, particularly large dogs, but once they have gotten to know each other she is playful and sweet. She could be an only dog. If she is going to join a multi-dog family her adopter needs to understand the need to do a slow intro. She is not a barker and is not especially demanding, but she does like her people time.
Angela is about 2 years old but her teeth tell a slightly different story. For unknown reasons the enamel did not fully form on her teeth. As she ages they may become a tartar magnet. To prevent tartar build-up the vet suggested lots of dental chews such as Greenies and for the dedicated adopter, tooth brushing.
Angela has been vet checked, vaccinated including rabies, and wormed. She is scheduled to be spayed in mid December at PUP's expense. If she is adopted prior to her spay the adopter will need to transport her to the surgery. The $375 adoption fee (check or cash) includes the cost of the spay. We do place dogs outside the metro area but a plan for the required spay must be in place. We do not ship.
If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a pooch CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. If you elect to contact us via e-mail it may take several weeks for us to get back to you. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.
