My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! Our names are Buddy and Cookie Puss and we are stunning male white and brown tabby brothers approximately 6 years of age. We, along with our mom, were all found curled up around our owner who was found deceased in our home located in NE Philly:( We were very loyal to him and understandably have had our world turned upset down with his loss. To make things worse, family members who were desperate to find a safe place for us to go before the home was sold were told by the local SPCA that they had no room for us and told them to "just open the door and let us out". We had been in our now empty home for a few weeks with just a family member coming every few days to leave us food, fresh water and the clean our litter box. We were always indoor-only kitties so we would have no idea how to navigate the dangerous streets of NE Philly, let alone be able to find food or survive the winter with no winter coat of fur:( Luckily a family member met the mom of one of Kitty Junction's foster moms who relayed their sad story and they were able to find a temporary foster home for us despite being full. Our foster mom is wonderful but she works long hours outside of her home so we desperately are missing human interaction.

My foster mom says though we are still adjusting to a new place, we are just the sweetest boys! We are very bonded brothers and can always be found curled up together. I, Cookie Puss, the longer haired, will seek affectionate and I love to be pet and brushed:) I also love to play! My favorite toy is the interactive feather toy:) My brother Buddy is definitely the shyer of us too but will also come out for pets and affection when its quiet. He definitely needs a little extra time to adjust to his new surroundings. We are both very low maintenance and would just love a quiet, loving place to call home. Our purrfect home would be with someone looking for two furry companions who has time to spend with us. We have spent so much of the past few weeks in an empty home and crave some human company. Due to Buddy's shyness, a home with young toddlers might be a little too scary for him as we are only used to being with our one previous owner who was a senior and he never had any visitors according to his family.

If you have room in your heart and home for two very sweet and deserving kitties desperately looking for a human to love them, please don't hesitate to fill out an adoption application for us at www.KittyJunction.org or if you have any questions at all about me please email KittyJunction@aol.com!!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Fill out our adoption application at our website www.KittyJunction.org - Be open and honest about your situation and what you are looking for in a cat/kitten. Give us the opportunity to match you up with a cat(s)/kitten(s) that will make your adoption a successful experience! If you have pets or did previously, we require your vet information and we will call them to verify that your pets are in good health, current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. If everything looks to be a good match or more information is needed, a Kitty Junction volunteer will reach out to you within 24 hours. By filling out our application, you are under no obligation to adopt the cat or kitten being applied for, but it does allow the foster mom to bring the cat or kitten to your home for the home visit. If at that time, you do not think that the cat or kitten is the one for you, we can make other suggestions based on the information you provided in your application. **While we are hopeful to approve all applications, we do reserve the right to decline an application if we believe that it is not in the best interest of our animals.**

2. The next step is a home visit, where the Kitty Junction foster parent and the new cat/kitten come to your home to verify it is a safe and nurturing environment. It is also a time where the foster parent can answer questions, discuss safety precautions and offer advice on how to best introduce your new cat/kitten to existing family members and pets. Our foster volunteers have spent most of their free time and many a sleepless night caring for some of our cats and kittens so a home check is also a reassurance for them that the animal they spent so much time saving and have come to love will be in a safe and loving home. If everyone is happy, an adoption contract is completed, adoption fee collected and the foster parent will leave your new pet with you so that you can begin to build a happy and long life together!

Adoptions are followed up with a phone call a few days after delivery to see how things are going. We are always available to help resolve any issues that may arise. During the adjustment period we encourage you to keep in contact with the foster parent. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions of the person who knows the animal best.

Adoption Fees
Kitty Junction Inc. is a non-profit 501(C)(3) made up entirely of volunteers. While we do not like having to charge adoption fees, they are necessary in order for us to be able to continue saving the lives of abandoned, abused and sick cats and kittens. Our adoption fees cover the cost of spaying/neutering, vaccines and FIV and Luekemia testing. The veterinary bills for some of our cats and kittens has far surpassed our adoption fees, some even in the thousands of dollars range, so any donations above the required adoption fee is welcomed and extremely appreciated!

Kitten & Young Adults (Under 3 years of age) - $90
Adult (Between the ages of 3 and 9) - $65.00
Senior (Ten years and older) - $35.00

With a few exceptions, cats are very social animals. For that reason, in households with no current pets, we strongly recommend that cats (especially kittens) are adopted in pairs. For families that work full time or who have busy schedules, cats adopted in pairs can offer each other companionship in both play and sleep for the long hours that you are not home. Cats that have a playmate tend to be more socially well-adjusted and avoid behavior problems such as shyness, biting, hissing, being frightened and hiding in the company of people they don't know.

Because we have found that adoptions have a much higher success rate when cats and kittens are adopted as pairs, we offer reduced adoption fees for adopted pairs!!

Pair of Kittens or Young Adults (Under 3 years of age) - $125.00
Pair of Adult Cats (Between the ages of 3 and 9)- $90.00
Pair of Seniors (Over the age of 10)- $55.00
