My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in adopting Kate, please let us know at: https://nexusequine.org/adoption-interest-survey/.

Are you looking for a beautiful 14-year-old sorrel mare named Kate to join your equine family? Kate is an enchanting equine soul seeking a patient and understanding handler who appreciates her intelligence and gentle nature.

Kate is an astute and observant mare, always taking in her surroundings with a keen eye. She's a smart and polite mare who respects the space of those around her. Trust is a journey for Kate, as she is in the process of learning to trust handlers, preferring a slow and steady approach to build a bond. She will truly thrive with routine in her day-to-day life; she likes predictability.

She's perceptive and excels when given information in smaller doses, as too much can overwhelm her. However, once she grasps a concept, she showcases an admirable willingness to learn. Kate is currently practicing yielding her hind quarters and is steadily improving her comfort with having her feet handled by the farrier.

Kate loves a good game of "catch me if you can," especially in larger turnouts. She thrives in a more contained space where she can express her spirited nature. Her affection extends not only to horses but also to dogs and goats. She's a social butterfly when it comes to four-legged friends!

Standing tied is a skill that Kate is mastering, showcasing her dedication to learning and adapting to new experiences. Her past experiences might not have provided her with the quality foundation she deserves, but she's resilient and open to rebuilding her knowledge base.

While she's not yet under saddle, Kate's potential is boundless. With the right handler, someone willing to invest quality time consistently and patiently, she will blossom further. Kate is ready to embrace a new chapter, to develop a solid foundation based on correct information, before transitioning to the next phase of her training.

Kate would thrive in a home where her handler understands the value of patience and consistency. A loving environment where she's given the time and space to learn and process new information at her own pace would be ideal for her growth and happiness.

Are you ready to embark on a remarkable journey with Kate? If you're seeking a kind, intelligent equine companion who will repay your dedication with trust and companionship, then Kate might just be the perfect addition to your equine family. Join us on this transformative journey and witness the incredible growth of this remarkable sorrel mare.
